POSITION OVERVIEW

Technology Banking Analyst

Progress Partners is seeking to hire a Boston based Investment Banking Analyst to help support its M&A transactions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, has experience with financial statements, financial modeling, and strong communication skills. Prior experience in executing M&A and Equity Capital Markets transactions in Technology verticals is highly preferred.

Analysts at Progress are given meaningful hands-on experience and deal responsibility. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, creative, proactive, outgoing, and possess a strong background in finance and accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of proposals, client presentations, and transaction materials
  • Conduct company and industry research, and develop expert industry knowledge
  • Develop marketing materials, complex financial analyses and models, and ensure data integrity and accuracy of all deliverables
  • Monitor campaigns, coordinate meetings, and prepare and actively participate in weekly updates
  • Engage in due diligence processes, including data room management and coordination between all stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Establish and maintain the respect and trust of clients
  • Recruit, supervise, and develop interns
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate development, or other similar experience
  • Bachelors degree with a strong academic record required; finance/accounting, business, economics majors preferred
  • Knowledge of M&A and capital raising practices is essential
  • Solid finance/accounting knowledge; ability to analyze and value businesses
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Team player mentality combined with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent analytical, creative, and strategic thinking skills
  • Strict attention to detail and advanced note taking abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize deliverables
  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills; Expert in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience with accounting, financial or market data, databases, or analysis tools
